Natalie meets Port of Dover Chief Executive

I held talks with Port of Dover chief executive Doug Bannister this week.
We met onto discuss investment plans, traffic management and the Port’s future jobs plan.

Since becoming an MP, I have called for immediate investment in lorry parks, the Whitfield roundabout and the main roads to the port, raising the matter in Parliament.

Road issues were discussed with the Port chief as well.

Meeting at the port’s headquarters at Harbour House, we also discussed the successful delivery of the first phases of the Western Docks revival project, which has seen major upgrades to the Port’s cruise and cargo terminals.
We also talked about planned significant investment at the Eastern docks as well as the Port’s next steps for jobs and staffing.

I am concerned to do all I can to safeguard jobs at the Port – and made that case when meeting with Port bosses.

I look forward to the Port of Dover progressing its investment, growth and jobs plans at pace to ensure that they make the most of the opportunities that lie ahead.
