Students from Beech Grove School in Nonington saw the Prime Minister make a surprise appearance and had a Q&A session with me during a special visit to the Houses of Parliament.
A group of sixth form politics students made the trip to Westminster to watch Treasury Questions, before Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave a statement giving the green light to High Speed 2 and announcing a huge boost for buses.
After watching events in the main chamber of the House of Commons, the students had a Question Time session in one of the House of Commons formal committee rooms.
It was great fun meeting the Beech Grove sixth formers. I was certainly put through my paces on questions ranging from climate change to refugee support in Syria, the nature of representative politics and whether politicians from different parties work together.
It was an articulate group of young people who are clearly well informed and engaged with the challenges of the modern world.
