Helping out at food bank with 9 year-old Scarlett Smith

I made a pre-Christmas visit to Dover Bank Food Bank with 9-year-old Scarlett Smith. I first met with Scarlett at my Surgery last month when she asked the me to come with her to hand in her fundraising donations.

I also made donations of food and toys. Together, we packed a food crate for the Christmas period. I was also able to discuss the vital work of the Dover Food Bank with its project manager Laura Ashman.

So many people and organisations in our community help people not just at Christmas, but all-year round. The Dover Food Bank is one of those organisations. I was so impressed with the vital work that Laura and the team do at the Dover Food Bank and with the dedication of Scarlett to helping others.

Dover Food Bank are on the look-out for more volunteers, including packers and drivers. So if you can, please do look at their website and get in touch.
