I have launched an online Cost of Living Help Hub. The online Help Hub supports residents find help with rising bills and costs of living.
The online help hub advises people what type of support is available and where they can go for support – from welfare benefits like universal credit to where to go to get help with gas and electricity bills. The hub also includes information on help with council tax, housing costs, how to access help with good, energy, broadband and Government support schemes as well as how to contact some of the many voluntary organisations working across the area.
The rising cost of living is a real worry for hard working families and struggling households here in Dover & Deal and across the country as a whole. My new online cost of living help hub seeks to support residents to quickly find help with rising bills and costs of living following the pandemic.
Everyone knows how the pandemic has damaged global supply chains – causing shortages and meaning that prices have been rising across the board. This has badly affected food, fuel and many other household costs. As things get back to normal prices should stabilise – but in the meantime I will continue to press the Government to do all it can to protect households from rising costs – especially for the least well off.
It’s too often the case that people don’t know that there is extra help available or where to go for it. I hope that the new online help hub will help people quickly find what they need, in addition to the direct help I and my team give through casework and my regular constituency surgeries.
