Recent electricity outages at Sholden have now been resolved.

I am aware that Sholden residents have recently faced unacceptable problems with their electricity supply. I have consequently been in discussions with Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), who are responsible for supplying electricity to this area, on behalf of affected residents.

I understand that this problem was caused by an underground fault that has now been fixed and I am pleased to report that the recent electricity outages at Sholden have now been resolved.

The electricity provider has confirmed that this incident was not as a result of any issue around housing or capacity, but a fault that has now been fixed. However, I will be monitoring this matter closely and ask residents to get in touch with me if they do experience further issues.

I have also written to the energy regulator, Ofgem, to ask them to look again at the levels of compensation offered to residents for instances like this.
