Calling for action to stop anti-social gang activity in the community

Residents from Dover and Deal have recently approached me about increasing anti-social gang activity, threatening residents’ safety and jeopardising access to community spaces such as cemeteries and support centres.

I have written to local Police chiefs, including the Police and Crime Commissioner, calling for action to tackle threatening and violent behaviour by gangs and ensuring residents can access community spaces without fear of intimidation.

Hearing about the recent attack on a 10 year old boy in Deal Cemetery is behaviour that is both shocking and unacceptable.

I have written to local police chiefs outlining my concerns about anti-social gang activity and have called for joint working with Dover District Council to ensure our community can go about their lives safely and without fear of intimidation.
