Natalie Elphicke MP is backing the Silver Voices (a campaign group for those over 60) petition to set up a Public Inquiry into age discrimination and ageism in the UK. The petition follows a survey of over 1,000 over 60s finding many older people feel they are being ‘being relegated to second-class status’.
The campaign, backed by The Daily Express, https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1785324/public-inquiry-age-discrimination-older-people-silver-voicespetition can be found using the button below
Natalie has been actively campaigning against age discrimination, whether it be in the workplace, accessing NHS services or accessing leisure facilities.
Encouraging people to sign up to the petition, Natalie Elphicke said she has been shocked by some of the disgraceful cases of discrimination suffered by some of her constituents who have reported discrimination in the workplace, barriers in accessing services, such as council-owned leisure facilities, NHS blood tests and even with parking their car.
Natalie believes this needs addressing as a priority and encourages everyone concerned about this issue to sign up to the petition for more attention to be given to tackling age based discrimination.
